N-TUTORR National Project
Student Champions for Promoting Digital Skills, Education for Sustainability, Leadership & Employability Programme
The N-TUTORR national project is an innovative collaboration across the Technological Higher Education sector to transform the student experience.
The role of the NTUTORR student champion is to develop student engagement and empowerment in their local university/institute. Student Champions will engage with the development of an initiative under one of the NTUTORR thematic areas:
- Academic Integrity
- Digital Transformation in Teaching and Learning
- Education for Sustainability
- Employability
- Equality Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
The application process for N-TUTORR student champions has now closed.
*Note: All champions recruited through the selection process will be paid through the PAYE system in their local institute.
Students as Partners in Innovation and Change Fellowship Programme
The N-TUTORR project is an innovative collaboration across the Technological Higher Education sector to transform the student experience.
As part of this project, up to 100 'Students as Partners in Innovation and Change' fellowships were made available in order to provide an opportunity for students and staff to collaborate on small scale enhancement projects that will have an immediate impact on the student experience. Up to €5,000 was made available to support each project.
Applications were made by teams of students and staff or by individual students (who will be matched with staff partners if successful).
This fellowship programme is a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to collaborate on projects that improve the student experience within their own institutions. These projects might be focused on a specific module, programme or discipline or might be campus or institute-wide. All successful project fund recipients of the N-TUTORR Partners in Innovation Fellowship Programme will be awarded a N-TUTORR project engagement Certificate and a Digital Badge recognising their project achievements at the Fellowship Celebration and Showcase Event planned for April 2024
The successful applicants were announced in May 2023.
Sustainable Higher Education Futures Community of Practice
The N-TUTORR programme is designed to transform learning, teaching and assessment by focussing on transforming the student experience and developing the capabilities of all staff to address a sustainable pedagogical and learning environment with particular and critical focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and universal design for learning (UDL).
As part of the Staff Capabilities (Stream 2) part of the project, we are launching a Sustainable Higher Education Futures Community of Practice.

The Community of Practice are planning a series of monthly masterclass webinars each focused on developing knowledge and skills in areas aligned to the project.
The future masterclasses planned for the rest of this semester (dates to be confirmed) include:
- February – Education for Sustainability
- March - Academic Integrity in higher education
- April - Universal Design for Learning – this event will include the chance for colleagues across the sector who are UDL Badge Facilitators to share their experience of implementing UDL in a series of lightning presentations
- May – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in higher education
- June - Digital transformation in higher education
