As a huge Skye Warren fan I couldn't say no to reading and reviewing this short story collection.
Who Will Save Your Soul
This first short story was one I liked right away. I loved the distinction between Emily who has always lived in a big clean house but stifled by her parents and Niko who literally works with dirt as a gardener. There's also the added intrigue of Emily being a pathological liar, which may or may not be true. The ending was really exciting too and I loved the romance between Emily and Niko.
Bedtime Story
I absolutely loved this story. As short as it was, I totally fell for both characters in the story. Jessica who's on the run with her baby boy and getting stopped by Finn who's a cop really stole my heart. It was a sweet story with the right amount of chemistry and promise. I would honestly love to read a full story about them. This might be my favorite short story out of all four of them.
Mafia Cinderella
This was a modern and very dirty twist on the classic fairytale that we all know and love so well. I've read my fair share of Cinderella retellings but I really liked this one. It had the ball, the shoes, the dress and the hot "prince". So definitely a winner in my eyes!
Heavy Equipment
I actually already knew this short story because I listened to the audiobook on Read Me Romance (this is a podcast) and I remember that I liked it but it was nice to reread it so I could refresh my memory of it and oh boy was this a kinky story. I loved it and I loved Asher!

This collection of short stories, some of which have been previously published, are a great introduction to Skye Warren’s writing style and the dark world in which she writes. These were all stand alones and did not intertwine with one another, but what they did have in common was sexy dominant men, women who may not have had power but stood up to these men and took control of the situations in which they found themselves, and totally steamy hot sex.
All of these stories were quick reads, and each was sexy in its own right. They each deliver a taste of a sinfully delicious bedtime story and whet your appetite for more. My only regret is that I DID want more of each! I wanted to understand the backstories, I wanted to know where the characters went from here, I wanted to see those who did them wrong get what was coming to them. But due to the nature of these being the short stories that they were, that was not possible, and they left me tantalized and looking for my next story by this author.

Who Will Save Your Soul? is the excellent combination of novellas from Skye Warren. These four short stories are full of sexiness, angst and thrill, creating a delicious Warren cocktail. It’s the perfect sample if Skye is a new-to-you author, and a must read position for her current fans. These novellas are riveting, all-consuming and completely unputdownable. Kept on a little dark-ish side, each of them is an erotic, dirty treat for romance lovers. Packed with dirty-talking alpha-heroes that will put you on FIRE and gripping storylines that keep you glued to the pages!

A bundle with 4 stories from my favourite author is just too much joy for my heart to bear :-D
Still, I bear it with pleasure.
It is so exciting to read her words in four different contexts. I admit my love for short stories, so this is a treat. A treat of dark pleasures indeed.
The first story features a little caged bird who yearns of freedom and a true life. Can the daughter of a dubious business man save herself? Are her lies a bridge to a new future or her death sentence? This story is really exciting.
Lush writing style for a gritty tale of liberation, corruption, and a bond of lust and need borne out of desperation. I loved the contrast between blue collar roughness and rich girl isolation, harsh greed and hypocritical conspiracies, submission and life-or-death bets. It's dangerous and sensual and frightening.
Romance with a fairy tale twist is becoming a preferred treat for me. Especially because this story is based on Sleeping Beauty.
Bedtime Story tells about a young mother fleeing from a dark fate only to end up in the hands of a lonely knight in shining armor that shows her true kindness for the first time in her life.
This novella encapsulates the desperation of a woman with no hope in just a couple of scenes that were very intimate and heartfelt. The beautiful prose reflects the awakening of a woman under the fist of violence, and also the awakening of femininity to be free at last to express desire without the constraint of fear and pain. That sheriff in the middle of a deserted road felt both emotional and arousing. And the intimacy of the dialogues they share is captivating. Just one night together full of tragedy and hope, it's beautiful.
Still, it was cut short in the end and felt a bit unfinished. Otherwise, it was quite a contradiction of sweet and dark, and very endearing. Loved it, too.
Mafia Cinderella
A dark rendition of the fable of the lion and the mouse. Here, the mouse is a damsel in distress who employs all her battered courage to strike a bargain with the powerful lion. And the price might be her body and soul.
This short story deals with very hard issues of abuse and slavery. A heroic justice comes about in the form of an unlikely saviour with deep lust and fair power, but also pictures a brave girl who seizes the opportunity to defy her harrowing circumstances and claim freedom. It's exciting and brutal. I loved Lucia's stand, her unread message, and the chance she gets to wear a dress. And that almost chivalrous ending that broke itself into a primitive mating. Wow.

Intensely erotic and beautifully crafted. This little treat will appeal to your dark and naughty side.
A brutal man preys on a defenseless beauty whose father is indebted to him. What a frightfully delicious scenario this is, but only because we hope there is love at the end of the tunnel. Otherwise :-(
In this case, the sensuality overpowers the imposition. The girl likes it all too much and takes pleasurable part in every step of her captivity, so that his harsh behaviour makes it less criminal and more fantasy. I'm not exactly into that kind of willing humiliation, but the scenario is beautifully and erotically narrated, craftily plotted to turn the bad into a sensuous awakening, the sacrifice into a reward. And there are layers beneath the darkness, so nothing is as it seems!
The dubious consent takes over a patina of provocation, and suddenly you start panting for the coarse, crude construction worker to defile the little exotic princess and make her moan for him.
It's a surprisingly devious erotic tale that runs too short for its raw power.
So, my verdict is this bundle is worth your panting and sighing. Dark love will captivate you against your will or thanks to it ;-)

The first story, Who will save your soul, was unexpected. Very interesting how it turns out, a little dark and surprising with a twist. I did find myself wondering what happened to his uncle, though.
Book 2, Bedtime Story, seems like a prequel to a book full of action. A girl on the run and a cop who helps her. They're both drawn to each other and could save the other, one from physical dangers and one from the ghost that haunts him.
Mafia Cinderella is my favorite of the stories. I've read a lot of twists on fairy tales, a lot of spins on Cinderella, but none like this and I was into it from page one.
Oh but book 4, Heavy Equipment, was the HOTTEST. Dang! Dirty and sexy and delicious throughout. I like the way the main character June comes to embrace her new position in life so fully.

Skye Warren, one of my favourite dark romance writers, has put together this collection of 4 stand-alone short stories. I’m not normally a lover of novellas as I like to have the time to be absorbed into a book and the characters. I found the short stories of Who Will Save Your Soul to be the perfect thing to pick up and finish in one sitting and Skye’s words are always mesmerizing.
I’ve only read two for now but will add to my review as I finish the others.
Mafia Cinderella: I loved all the similarities and twists from the original fairy tale. Lucia is our Cinderella and Sebastian is Prince Charming. Lucia has a hard life working her fingers to the bone for two sisters, but when her life is threatened, she finds herself in the gripping stare of Sebastian. It is a captivating short story that draws you in and keeps you enticed until the happily ever after.
Heavy Equipment: This story is just what the doctor ordered for a tantalizing, steamy read. It's quick and dirty, but oh, so satisfying. Every word drips of Skye Warren and is so in keeping with The Trust Fund duet. I love Skye's writing and how she takes the taboo and makes us crave it. Asher and June Li have been made for each other and they hold nothing back. A heady novella that will bring out the temptress in you.

I haven’t read a Skye Warren book so far that I didn’t like! This collection is no exception. The author brings us 4 short stories in a sinful package with a gorgeous cover!
The first novella, “Who will save your soul?”, is the story of Emily and Niko. I must say that the story turned out darker than I anticipated. Even thought it was short, I was invested in Emily’s life and wanted to see what really happened and what was to come for her. The second story, “Bedtime Story”, is the story of Jessica, a single mother running from the mafia. I enjoyed the fact that each short story has a mafia background. The third novella, “Mafia Cinderella”, was the one that I really wanted more chapters. I’ve gotten the novella way back through the author’s newsletter, but never gotten around to reading it. I’m glad that I did now! The last story, “Heavy Equipment”, was a story I really enjoyed and felt the shortest…

If you’ve never read Skye Warren before, I’m not all together sure this is where you should start. These are short stories and for one, labeling a story is a stretch. They are, however, very Skye. This is what she writes, and she is very good at her craft. But if you’re new to her word wizardry, they might fall short because you won’t get them and then you may not read her again and that would just be a crime. Do with that information as you will …

Four highly entertaining stories from the queen of dark and gritty reads. I had so much fun reading these.
Fast paced, unique and spicy!!! It is no secret that I adore Skye Warren and this collection of novellas kept me great company. You won't be able to put them down.
I recommend this for every fan of the darker, grittier side of romance.

Who Will Save Your Soul? by Skye Warren is a box set of four novellas. This is a great set to if you are a fan of Ms. Warren's writing. But it is also a way for you to taste her writing if you have never read a book by her. These are novellas so they are quick reads that are nice to have when you need a quick read to get a break in your day. I love this set of books, so I was happy to have this in my library. These stories were OK but the endings let's them down, Bedtime Story and mafia Cinderella were both great but the endings felt rushed!

This is a four book anthology consisting of four short novellas written by Skye Warren. Each one is a standalone with a HEA. I’ve long lost my interest in Skye Warren’s writing voice. I’ve been a long time fan of her work. Over the years it’s been hit or miss with her work. Here’s another read where my interest declined.
Heavy Equipment is seven chapters with an epilogue.
The good obedient daughter honors her fathers debt with her body. An arrangement was made with a wealthy construction worker.
Asher Cook is a crude dirty talking man who can’t wait to make June his.
June Li is the obedient daughter used to barter the debt. She always been proud to carry her fathers name. She’s always known she was raised to be a society wife. However, she hadn’t expected the arrangement her father made with Asher.
Skye delivers another dark taboo romance with her naughty words and broken characters who desire the forbidden sex. It was an okay read. The sex scenes are becoming all to familiar. The story is formulaic with the obedient female character ashamed of the pleasure being drawn from her body by a man she should despise. This was another story where Skye brings out the dirty in her female character with the help of a good looking man.
This is a quick and dirty novella. Skye delivered exactly what she set out to do.
Who Will Save Your Soul is eight chapters long. 2 stars. It was okay for a short story, but not enough to grab ahold of me. It was easy to read.
Meet Emily Coulter a nineteen year old pathological liar. From her second story window she watches the gardener, a good looking guy. Emily spent a lifetime with her father calling her stupid and her mother calling her a liar. She’s trapped in the wealthy world her parents created for her, but she doesn’t want it.
Bedtime Story is eleven chapters. 3 stars. It’s an easy read.
Meet Jessica an eighteen year old single mother escaping Tanglewood county in the middle of the night. Tanglewood is notorious for corruption by the mafia. When she gets pulled over by the sheriff her libido does a happy dance.

The good obedient daughter honors her fathers debt with her body. An arrangement was made with a wealthy construction worker.
Asher Cook is a crude dirty talking man who can’t wait to make June his.
June Li is the obedient daughter used to barter the debt. She always been proud to carry her fathers name. She’s always known she was raised to be a society wife. However, she hadn’t expected the arrangement her father made with Asher.
Skye delivers another dark taboo romance with her naughty words and broken characters who desire the forbidden sex. It was an okay read. The sex scenes are becoming all to familiar. The story is formulaic with the obedient female character ashamed of the pleasure being drawn from her body by a man she should despise. This was another story where Skye brings out the dirty in her female character with the help of a good looking man.
This is a quick and dirty novella. Skye delivered exactly what she set out to do.
Who Will Save Your Soul is eight chapters long. 2 stars. It was okay for a short story, but not enough to grab ahold of me. It was easy to read.

Nothing is too much when it comes to Skye Warren's words. This sexy, sinful and deliciously dirty collection of short stories is something you cannot miss! My favorite story was Heavy Equipment. Arrogant construction worker and foreman Asher is dominant, rough and sexy as hell. June Li is the innocent little Princess who is forced to get in the clutch of the big bad wolf. But is she really that innocent? We get to see the other side of her with the story! A scorching hot and forbidden story that packs so much !You get to experience everything Skye Warren excels in writing. The mind games. The delicious passion which is so dark and so good! I wanted the story to keep on going so that I can see more of the dirty deviant world of Asher and June.
My next favourite read was Bedtime Story. Jessica is running from her abusive partner, her traumatic past of poverty and sexual abuse and everything corrupt. Her son Ky is her only concern. She gets pulled up by the sheriff of Provence, Finn because of her erratic driving. Finn convinces her to spend the night in local police station for her safety and her rest. And that night turns out to be something special for both of them. Not just electrifying physical attraction. They form a soul deep bond. Finn has own dark past and Jessica had a dark life. Mafia, guns, human flesh peddling, drugs...they have seen it all and been burnt by the violence. But I love how their tangible chemistry formed very believably in a short span. So much that I cheered for them to have a new beginning.
This collection also has two other short stories. Who Will Save Your Soul that is about Emily, the rich but sad and troubled princess of a criminal family and Nick, the gardener aka thief.Emily and Niko's story had promises but somehow it felt disjointed. It has materials for a much bigger story. The chemistry didn't develop except moments of electrifying brilliance. The suspense took a large part of the story. And I feel I have so many unanswered questions! Mafia Cinderella is an interesting dark retelling of the fairytale. Again I felt the connection was formed too fast and too simply. This story can be a great read if the author transforms it into a full length novel! I want to see more of Sebastian Conti and Lucia.

5 SKYE WARREN STARS
I have never been the person who loves short stories. I'm someone who loves a lengthy read that's drawn out and full of angst. Who Will Save your Soul: And Other Dangerous Bedtime Stories, however, blew literally every qualm I had with short stories out of the water! Skye never fails to deliver a fantastic story, no matter the length! (Bonus was that all are loosely--very loosely, I'm talking maybe a mention of a common town- connected!! It made reading the shorts a lot more enjoyable.)
WHO WILL SAVE YOUR SOUL: Emily and her gardener Niko are heavy-duty under all that flirting. The pathological liar plotline is so fresh and will keep you on your toes.
MAFIA CINDERELLA: Lucia gets her prince to sweep her off her feet. She's definitely not your typical Cinderella and Sebastian Conti isn't a Prince Charming; he's way more dark and delicious
BEDTIME STORY: I couldn't tell which my favorite was, this or Heavy Equipment!! I loved Sheriff Finn and him rescuing a damsel on the streets. This was one where I definitely felt like I needed more, but I'm so happy we got a taste of these two.

There are four separate stories contained within the pages of this book, each distinct in several ways from the others. But all involve an innocent young woman and a somewhat scary man. Each man presents a threat to the woman in question in their story, but ultimately proves to be a protector instead of a destroyer. Each story comes at it a different way, but results in a happily-ever-after ending. With lots of hot action included to help keep things interesting, of course. The fact that each story is relatively short at just a few chapters each makes this volume easy to read in short increments. They definitely would be good, one per evening for several nights, read as a bedtime story. And a sexy one at that! As with any such collection, there were some tales that I enjoyed more than others, some that I found more believeable, some that were better written. But overall it was a good solid read, and if one isn't too much to your liking, well, it's soon over and you can move on to the next savory morsel.

The despair oozes off the pages in this story. The shiny façade in sharp contrast to the mud and dirt. But the dirt is the cleanliness here, and Emily and Niko revel in it, and find their HEA away from the shininess and in the joyful dirt.

This was a deliciously decadent 'sold for a debt read'! Asher and June waste no time on formalities, as the heat sizzles between them. We get their dirty, sexy, moments, and that inevitable HEA, as the emotions catch up with them. A quick read with a high handed, and completely possessive leading male - yes please!

These shorts aren't enough for me anymore. I need a little more. I need flesh. Flesh these stories out. The only short I felt was something that should've been left alone because it was already perfect as is was the Beauty and the Beast series.
Umm too many rookie errors and typos in Bedtime Story, and I was really looking forward to it since I've read all of the other ones--excluding the first one--prior to this book's release. I would've appreciated a climax in BS (wow, the irony) instead of an actual physical climax. I wanted shit to hit the fan and then get gradually better or something close to it.
The first story, WWSYS?, was good. Sweet and a bit vague in certain aspects.
MC was good too, didn't know a lot of things in this one either.
Heavy Equipment is my absolute favorite! Though I still wish there was more to that one.
Overall, I can appreciate that these stories all revolve around the Tanglewood universe. I love cameos from other characters; there should have been one in here.

In this collection of novellas by Skye Warren my first review is for Heavy Equipment - This novella is spin off from the Trust Fund Duet and it does not fall short. Skye Warren sure knows how to pack a full sexy, panty dropping, story in this novella. Heavy Equipment hits heavy straight outta the gate, leaving nothing left to chance. Asher Cook is the construction foreman we met while Harper was trying to save the historical library. A commanding man who knows what he wants and has no issue with telling you how it is going to be! And he wants June! She is the prize he gets to collect. She is the payment he receives to clear a debt. The hot and intense Asher knows exactly how to excite and entice June. He will push buttons on her she never knew she had. Be prepared for a powerfully erotic, toe curling ride while reading or listening to this story! Will add the reviews for the others shortly.

Who Will Save Your Soul is a delicious collection from the brilliant Skye Warren. It's four novellas that will overheat you, allow for dropping of the f-bombs because of twists, plus 4 very sexy alphas with strong amazing heroines. Each story had me definitely crave more when I was done devouring them, as Ms. Warren calls to my dark & twisty soul on another level. And I don't want to forget the angst that seeps out of my kindle with each new story. Seriously though, it's hard to fit all this goodness into novellas, and yet, this author manages to execute them perfectly without being too much, or too little. I LOVE that she released this because it gives everyone the opportunity to get a taste of her brilliance, and I hope she does it again & again.
