Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh & Dan Trueman – the Fate of Bones

What will happen to their music when the maggots and worms have feasted upon Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh & Dan Trueman?  the Fate of Bones is the fiddle players’ brand new album together, being released in 2020.

the Fate of Bones is a thought-provoking new work by American and Irish fiddle players Dan Trueman (Princeton University / So Percussion) and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh (The Gloaming / This Is How We Fly). They have collaborated with the award-winning Irish graphic designer Rossi McAuley to reimagine what album artwork can be: in this album launch, the artwork becomes part of the performance itself, a piece of art to provoke interaction, stimulation, meditation.  This same artwork also becomes a message in a bottle to a future generation, partly inspired by the Voyager Golden Record's lofty aim of communicating to unknown races across vast distances of space.

the Fate of Bones follows up their beautiful 2014 debut release Laghdú, which featured the unique sound of their two 10-string hardanger d'amore fiddles. Brought together from two sides of the Atlantic, this launch show in Café Oto marks the debut London outing for this very special duo project.
