At the first INTA meeting in 2023, Members will discuss the future direction of EU trade policy. They will exchange views with Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis about how EU trade policy can contribute to the right solutions in an uncertain world. They will also discuss the priorities of the incoming Swedish Presidency of the Council in the area of International Trade Policy with the Swedish Minister for International Development and Foreign Trade, Johan Forssell.

During the same meeting, the Committee will exchange views with Commission representatives on the conclusion of the negotiations on the EU-Chile interim Free Trade Agreement and on the Advanced Framework Agreement.

INTA will also vote on its opinion on the legislative proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (lead Committee: JURI). The proposed Directive aims to foster sustainable and responsible corporate behavior and to anchor human rights and environmental considerations in companies' operations and corporate governance.

Finally, there will be a public hearing on "Tackling Unfair Trading Practices in the Garment/Textile Sector".
