A very important topic...covering all the worthwhile topics on finances...
Psychological factors influence financial decisions and behaviors. The author urges the reader to plan for the future by owning a diversified stock portfolio and allowing it to compound, saving for the future, and operating with a margin of error. The main premise of the book is doing well with money has little to do with how smart you are, and a lot to do with how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people. Here are some very interesting snippets you will learn about in this book -...people don't know enough about saving money. The 401K is the backbone savings vehicle of American retirement. But lets face it, its been around for less than 50 yrs, which is not long enough. We are all newbies at saving....we tend to listen to the news a lot, which is constantly covering extreme examples of wealth, the billionaires, who are actually very few. We should instead be listening more to actionable takeaways for broad patterns of success and failure....the highest form of wealth is the ability to do what you want, whenever you want, for as long as you want. It is the highest dividend money can pay....One of the most powerful ways to increase your savings isn't to raise your income. It's to raise your humility. Spend less, desire less. Money relies more on psychology than on finance....Keep your life simple. The author says all of their net worth is in their house, their checking account, and in their Vanguard Index Funds. Just doing that has made him sufficiently wealthy.#bookreview #booktube #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookcommunity #bookish #readingcommunity
