Aims & Scope

Crosscultural Studies of Religion and Theology is an international, peer reviewed journal which explores crosscultural, intercultural and transcultural dimensions of encounters, debates, conflicts and transformative processes worldwide crossing cultural and religious, but also academic boundaries. It encompasses primarily approaches from the study of religion and theology, but also invites contributions from anthropology, sociology and related disciplines. The journal includes reports on interreligious and intercultural outreach projects.

The journal works in cooperation with the Crosscultural Study of Religion project and the Center for Intercultural Theology and Study of Religions at the University of Salzburg. It takes up the tradition of the Salzburger Theologische Zeitschrift (SaThZ) while extending its scope to interdisciplinary and international research.

As an annual, peer reviewed, open access journal it welcomes contributions in English and German.
