CIPR statement on Ukraine

CIPR President, Rachel Roberts, has issued the following statement to members about the conflict in Ukraine;

"Our thoughts at this time are with the people of Ukraine and our members based there.

As the invasion continues, ethical communications and the sharing of information increasingly play a critical role in shaping the conflict and protecting lives. The CIPR stands strongly against the use of mis- and disinformation in all its forms, as our member Code of Conduct makes clear. We encourage people sharing information about the conflict or concerned about information being shared about the conflict to consult the Government Communication Service toolkit on reducing the impact of mis- and disinformation through communications.

The CIPR is working with our iprovision charity to evaluate what support we can offer PR practitioners in Ukraine in the months ahead."
