About this app

The Turdus application is developed by the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Society (MME/BirdLife Hungary) to support its field data collection programs.

In 2022, we launched the "citizen science" program at NaturesLesen, which includes the Winter Bird Hunt, Stork Hunt, Fecskeles, Spring Nature Hunt and "TOTEM", to collect data on dead and injured animals. NatureLesen can be used with a simple registration within the application.

Registered surveyors of the MME Monitoring Center can use the MAP and MMM modules. The Bird Atlas Program (MAP) was launched in 2014 and now plays a central role in MME's ornithological data collection work. We have been running the Everyday Bird Monitoring (MMM) program since 1998 for the long-term monitoring of changes in the flocks of our common birds.

The biggest advantage of the application is that the MAP and MMM desktop databases, which are already familiar to many, will have to be used much less for data upload. You can upload the data collected in the field directly to the databases, and Turdus will perform many tasks for you that you used to spend a lot of time on.
