Top Ten Tuesday: Characters to Vacation With

For That Artsy Reader Girl’s Top Ten Tuesday:

April 16: Characters I’d Like to go on Vacation With (Pretend you’re going on vacation and can bring 10 of your closest friends with you. Pick your vacation spot and tell us who you’d like to bring! Bonus point if you tell us why. Or maybe you like the idea of traveling in small groups, so plan 10 trips or 5 trips!)

I just decided who to bring, I didn’t

I loved the first half of this book. I loved the influence from Ellen Raskin's The Westing Game, and Edgar Allen Poe. I loved the game set up by a billionaire to find his heirs, and the various characters playing. So why did my rating fall?

Quotes by Fran Laniado  (?)

“Other girls- our friends’ daughters, my friends when I was a girl, your sisters, were all so merry and sociable. You… were always so quiet. You never joined in, never participated in any activities, and I never knew how to make you feel as if you could. As if you were welcome. So I suppose that embarrassed me. I knew that it was my failure. That I could not give you whatever it was that you needed to be happy. That’s what made me ashamed. Because I never really knew how to be your mother. With your sisters, I could be myself. I could talk about dresses, and suitors, and we could do one another’s hair. You never wanted any of that.”
Fran Laniado, Beautiful

Hehe, well I feel I was a bit unfair because in spite of all my issues the first few were addictive and you at least gave that credit. However, I couldn't bring myself to be generous to something so blatenly anti-feminist!
Love you too xoxo
