I was glad to be in Haltia in Nuuksio National Park today, a truly exceptional place. The Finnish Nature Centre is a cross-laminated timber building. When it was built in 2013, it was the first of its kind in Northern Europe. Today, 3% of the overall material input in the European construction is timber. And the demand is growing fast. With the New European Bauhaus, we want to decarbonise Europe's building stock. We are looking for nature-based solutions, like here in Haltia, with its plant-covered roof that soaks up carbon, sunlight and rain water. Finland, Estonia and Sweden have centuries of experience in building out of wood. We need your experience, now more than ever, to encourage sustainable forestry and lead the next revolution in architecture. Today's conference was about forests as our home, forests as our economic foundation and of course forests as our best allies to fight climate change. It's about time Europe control timber export to China. China buys all the wood they can from Europe at any price and this creates a lot of problems with small companies who still need wood. China also steal prime white oak in France and Belgium forests. France is bound by EU regulations and cannot do it by itself. Even Russia is threatening to ban export of their timber to China if they don't stop illegal logging. Will the EU address this issue? or are we letting China exploit our natural resources like they do in Africa?

We know our forests & can take care of them in a way that doesn't ruin them or our economy. I wish the Central European countries had done the same with their natural resources & forests. We also have solutions to use materials created as by-products of the wood industry, for example, to produce activated carbon and plant breeding ground solutions, in which case the European internal market benefits greatly from short transport distances and a reliable partner in Finland, with our long experience and high technology. 🌲🙋🏻🇫🇮

Finland's national parks are our country's national treasure. Especially during the covid-19 epidemic, their importance as an important outdoor recreation and recreation area for citizens was emphasized. A record number of people visited our national parks and the same trend continues. Finland has also managed its forests very well, i.e. in areas where forests are being thinned, e.g. as a product of wood construction, the forest is renewed by planting tree seedlings or sowing tree seeds in place of the felled forest. In this way, the continuous growth of the forest is secured and the forest acts as a continuous carbon sink.

Ottimo.

Romania needs two frigates from England Essex and Wessex and a submarine Akula class from Australia and Merkva Tanks from Israel to replace the old ones. We also need Blackhawk helicopters to replace the old ones and also we can use the Iron Dome from Israel. This is what Romania needs in terms of Defence. If you have a budget of 100 percent divided by 20 ministry's you will have a budget of 5 percent per minister including for Defence purposes.
