I have written a reader-supported publishing blog on my website since 2009. The blog appears weekly and discusses some aspect of the publishing industry. The blog focuses on creator’s rights, copyrights, new technology, writing, craft, promotion, and business.&nbsp;The blog appears on the website for free, often weeks or months after I write it. If there is a hot-button topic, however, the blog will focus on that.&nbsp;Backers on Patreon receive the posts early, usually as they’re finished. Sometimes that’s a day or two ahead of publication, but often the blog appears here weeks or months ahead of publication.&nbsp;The same goes for the audio blog. It appears here first.&nbsp;I experiment here on Patreon, and occasionally put out a call for new ideas. I often ask the patrons for feedback and for ideas. I rely on and greatly appreciate my backers.&nbsp;The rewards include early access to the blog, in both written and audio forms. They also include ebooks that arise out of the blog itself, as well as discounts for the WMG Writing Workshops, and other goodies.&nbsp;From the beginning, I have relied on the blog’s readers to support my nonfiction efforts. My time is limited. I also preach that writers should be paid for their work. By offering the blog for free on my <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">kriswrites.com</a> website, I make it easy for writers to get information, but I do so at the cost of my time.&nbsp;The backers here give me the freedom to write the weekly blog.
