"Seeds For Community Regeneration" is a 23-day ESC Team Volunteering project for 15 international volunteers aiming to revive and regenerate the local community by renovating the old abadnoned school building of the village and creating a beautiful herbal multi-sensorial permaculture garden in the surrounding yard! We really want to connect deeper with the local population in an organic and integrative way by creating community infrastructure that will be used by everyone and that will inspire new creative and cultural activities, thus reviving and regenerating the village! We will repair the abandoned village school, transforming it to a multifunctional space to serve common needs of the wider community (hosting visitors, a co-working space, a place to practice non formal education and many more). Inside the building we plan to create the necessary infrastructure, a stove for heating, basic furniture and more! At the end we will have a big celebration inviting locals and non locals!

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

The activity will take place at COB eco-project, a permaculture, agroforestry farm and an intentional eco-community in Nessonas. Volunteers will be sleeping in tents inside the COB’s almond grove. It is necessary that you bring your own outdoors sleeping material. Tents will be provided. Compost toilets and outdoor showers with warm water will serve our needs. The fram house provides us with a kitchen to cook our daily meals, which are healthy and VEGAN. If you have any allergies or intolerances, please inform us ahead of time, so we can plan accordingly. -Repairing the abandoned village school, transforming it into a multifunctional space -Constructing a rocket mass heater (stove) for heating up the school -Creating multisensorial herbal permacuture gardens to make the area beautiful & educational -Creating playground elements for the children -Organizing final events for the local community,celebrating the completion of our aims, bringing people together from the surrounding areas -Organizing, cooperating, taking care of everyday chores, maintaining a healthy group dynamic usinf informal and non-formal educational tools

Perfil del participante

This project is very inspiring and very demanding at the same time. It will be 23 intensive days that will prove how much we people are capable of if we put our hearts and collaborative power in it. We are seeking highly motivated individuals, with good social skills and a good relationship with children. People who are inspired by community living and the commons in general. Experience in building/farming and cooperative projects will be highly appreciated.
